With the orderly release of post-holiday car consumption demand, coupled with the intensive launch of various new technologies and models, the sales of many major domestic automakers steadily rebounded in March, achieving significant year-on-year and month-on-month growth. Meanwhile, BYD, Changan Automobile, Geely Automobile, Chery Automobile, and other automakers continued to perform strongly in overseas markets, with many achieving record-high overseas monthly sales.

In March, SAIC Motor sold 376,000 vehicles, achieving a "three-peat" in monthly sales. From January to March, SAIC's cumulative sales reached 973,000 units, with cumulative retail sales of 1,008,000 units. From January to March, SAIC's own-brand sales reached 657,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 9.3%; new energy vehicle sales reached 270,000 units, maintaining its leading position in the industry; and export sales reached 325,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 48.3%.
Data released by SAIC Passenger Vehicle shows that in March, retail sales exceeded 91,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 4.8% and a significant month-on-month increase of 65.8%; new energy vehicle retail sales increased by 74.2% year-on-year and surged by 229.5% month-on-month. Among them, Roewe's March retail sales increased by 100.4% month-on-month; DMH series retail sales increased by 176% month-on-month. The new MG4 achieved monthly retail sales of over 14,000 units, marking the sixth consecutive month with monthly retail sales exceeding 10,000 units.
Zhiji Auto's March sales reached 7,187 units, with first-quarter sales surging by 97% year-on-year. The Zhiji LS8, which opened for pre-sale on March 26, successfully exceeded 10,000 pre-orders within 45 minutes. SAIC-GM-Wuling's global sales in March reached 134,030 units, with new energy vehicle sales reaching 60,487 units. From January to March, SAIC-GM-Wuling's global sales reached 316,516 units, of which 127,024 were new energy vehicles. SAIC Maxus's total sales in March reached 27,085 units, a year-on-year increase of 32%.
Regarding joint venture brands, according to SAIC's production and sales report, SAIC Volkswagen's March sales were 68,000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 24.44%; cumulative sales from January to March were 189,940 units, a cumulative year-on-year decrease of 16.75%. SAIC-GM's March sales were 50,022 units, a year-on-year increase of 14.15%; cumulative sales from January to March were 121,306 units, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 11.29%.
BYD: Overseas sales maintained rapid growth

BYD sold a total of 300,222 vehicles in March, of which 295,693 were passenger vehicles. Specifically, for each sub-brand, BYD's Dynasty | Ocean brand sold 262,327 vehicles in March, Formula Leopard sold 25,926 vehicles, Denza sold 7,133 vehicles, and Yangwang sold 307 vehicles.
In March, BYD remained very active in overseas markets. Its sub-brand Denza officially entered the Philippine market and also appeared at the Bangkok Motor Show alongside the main brand, showcasing over 40 new energy vehicles. Furthermore, BYD officially joined the International Automotive Task Force (IATF), participating in the development of core international standards alongside numerous international automotive giants.
From January to March 2026, BYD Group's cumulative sales reached 700,463 vehicles, of which 319,751 were passenger cars and pickup trucks sold overseas. As of March this year, BYD's cumulative sales of new energy vehicles have exceeded 15.8 million units.
Changan Automobile: Overseas Monthly Sales Exceed 100,000

In March, Changan Automobile's sales reached 270,600 vehicles, a significant increase of 78% month-on-month. Among them, new energy vehicle sales reached 89,600 units, a month-on-month increase of 112%; overseas sales reached 103,900 units, a month-on-month increase of 60%, setting a new record.
Changan Qiyuan, a subsidiary, sold 36,875 units in March, a month-on-month increase of 102%; the all-new Q05 delivered 12,600 units in March, a significant month-on-month increase of 188%. DeepBlue Auto's global sales in March reached 31,742 units, a month-on-month increase of 87.8% and a year-on-year increase of 30%. Among them, DeepBlue S05 sales reached 17,586 units in March, with cumulative sales exceeding 190,000 units. Avita's sales reached 5,143 units in March.
Changan Automobile's Gravity series sold 103,900 units in March, a month-on-month increase of 74%. Among them, the Changan CS75 series and Eado series both exceeded 20,000 units in sales in March. Changan Kaicheng's sales reached 28,100 units in March, a month-on-month increase of 94%, with pickup truck sales exceeding 10,000 units in March.

Chery Group sold 240,678 vehicles in March, a year-on-year increase of 12.1%. Among them, Chery Automobile sold 228,451 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 15%. From January to March, Chery Group's cumulative sales reached 601,712 vehicles.
In terms of exports, Chery exported nearly 150,000 vehicles in March, reaching 148,777, a year-on-year increase of 72%, setting a new record for monthly exports of Chinese brand automobiles. As of March this year, Chery has exported over 100,000 vehicles for 11 consecutive months. In the first quarter of this year, Chery's cumulative exports reached 393,311 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 53.9%. Currently, one in every five Chinese cars exported overseas is from Chery.

Among them, new energy vehicle sales (including Geely, Lynk & Co, and JiKrypton) reached 127,319 units, a year-on-year increase of 6%, accounting for 55% of total sales. Geely Galaxy's March sales reached 82,744 units, a month-on-month increase of 13%. JiKrypton's March deliveries reached 29,318 units, a significant year-on-year increase of 90% and a month-on-month increase of 23%. In the gasoline vehicle market, Geely China Star's March sales reached 95,543 units, a month-on-month increase of 17%. In the first quarter of this year, Geely China Star's cumulative sales reached 311,800 units.
Regarding overseas exports, Geely's overseas sales reached 81,639 units in March, a year-on-year increase of 120% and a month-on-month increase of 34%. Of these, sales of new energy vehicles reached 52,186 units, accounting for 64% of total overseas exports. In the first quarter of this year, Geely's cumulative overseas sales reached 203,024 units, a significant year-on-year increase of 126%.

Of these, Geely brand sales were 550,659 units, Lynk & Co brand sales were 81,662 units, and JiKe brand sales were 77,037 units.
