The Yangwang U7 is a highly anticipated model in the Chinese market. It debuted in January last year and applied for a sales license in the same month. In April 2024, BYD officially released the Yangwang U7 at the Beijing Auto Show. However, its pre-sales did not start until November 2024. The luxury sedan went on sale in late March 2025. It took BYD another two months to start mass production.

Yangwang, BYD's luxury brand, released official photos of the first batch of mass-produced U7 sedans, which officially rolled off the assembly line in China. From these photos, we can see that BYD first started assembling the pure electric version of the U7 sedan. The model's distinguishing feature is the single air intake design on its front bumper.

The first batch of mass-produced Yangwang U7s appear to be painted in white, with 21-inch multi-spoke wheels and conventional mirrors. All models are equipped with a lidar sensor on the roof. The interior is painted white.

The Yangwang U7 EV is slightly smaller than its plug-in hybrid version. The body size of this pure electric model is 5265/1998/1517 mm, and the wheelbase is 3160 mm. The Yangwang U7 pure electric version is equipped with four electric motors with a total peak power of 960 kW (1287 horsepower). It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 270 km/h. The Yangwang U7 pure electric version has a range of up to 720 kilometers under CLTC conditions.

The interior of the Yangwang U7 is available in two layouts: four-seat and five-seat. The center console is equipped with a 12.8-inch OLED touch screen. There is a 23.6-inch large display screen in front of the co-pilot, and the instrument panel on the driver's side is the same size as the display screen.

The rear wheels of the U7 can rotate 20 degrees, so its minimum turning radius is only 4.85 meters. The car is equipped with the Disus-Z suspension system, and its core technology is to use magnetic levitation motors to replace traditional hydraulic shock absorbers.
